About Sandy Hook Promise
Sandy Hook Promise (SHP) is a national nonprofit organization with a mission to end school shootings,
and create a culture change that prevents violence and other harmful acts that hurt children. Through its life-saving evidence-informed Know the Signs prevention programs, SHP educates and empowers youth and adults to recognize, intervene, and get help for individuals who may be socially isolated and/or at risk of hurting themselves or others. SHP is a moderate, bipartisan organization that supports sensible policy solutions that address the human side of gun violence and make schools safer.

SHP is led by several family members whose loved ones were killed in the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012.

Position Summary 
The Senior Associate, Digital Organizing will be responsible for supporter mobilization through digital advocacy. This person will be a key member of the Supporter Engagement department, crafting compelling calls to action and utilizing digital mobilization tools to further our supporter’s participation in our mission. This is a full-time, remote position and will report to our Senior Manager, Organizing (East Lead).

Job Responsibilities  
  • Develop engaging and persuasive copy for calls to action, email campaigns, SMS, and other digital platforms to drive supporter engagement.
  • Utilize digital mobilization tools, including email marketing platforms, and CRM systems, to connect with our supporter audience and track engagement metrics.
  • Manage the volunteer Facebook page
  • Provide support to volunteers and supporters in using digital tools and platforms to participate in grassroots actions and events.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate digital organizing efforts into broader organizational initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends, best practices, and new tools in digital organizing and advocacy.
  • Work and collaborate with teammates from across the organization as necessary.
  • Have a basic understanding of data literacy and willingness to use and refer to data.
  • Other duties as identified given organizational needs.

Qualification 
  • Experience in digital advocacy
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling and concise copy
  • Experience with digital organizing tools and platforms, such as EveryAction
  • Familiarity with digital advocacy and grassroots organizing strategies
  • Experienced speaker with ability to host virtual informational and training sessions for varied audience sizes and demographics
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to Sandy Hook Promise’s mission and goals 
  • Demonstrated commitment to integrating race, equity, diversity, and inclusion principles  
Benefits and Salary Range 
The salary range for this position is $54,000-$64,000. (SHP follows a strict internal rubric to help guide salary placement and ensure equitable pay amongst new hires and current staff. New hires should expect to be brought on at the start of the range, except in extenuating circumstances.)

Our organization operates within a distributed workforce, allowing for location flexibility across the country for most positions. We provide remote office support for all staff, which includes a laptop, home office reimbursement, monthly wifi reimbursement up to $40, and monthly cell phone reimbursement up to $50.
