Sandy Hook Promise (SHP) envisions a future where all children are free from school shootings and other acts of violence. As a national nonprofit organization, SHP’s mission is to educate and empower youth and adults to prevent violence in schools, homes, and communities. Creators of the lifesaving, evidence-informed Know the Signs prevention programs, SHP teaches the warning signs of someone who may be in crisis, socially isolated, or at-risk of hurting themselves or others and how to get help. SHP also advances school safety, youth mental health, and responsible gun ownership at the state and federal levels through nonpartisan policy and partnerships.
SHP is led by several family members whose loved ones were killed in the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012.

Location
We are a U.S. based organization and most of our staff work remotely. This role will require <10% travel (on an as-needed basis).
About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Project Management, the Project Manager will oversee the logistics, communication, and execution of cross-functional projects at SHP. This role is responsible for gathering key information, facilitating clear communication, and ensuring project deliverables are accurate, timely, and within scope. The Project Manager will independently lead projects of varying complexity while also collaborating with the Director of Project Management on larger, multi-department initiatives. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of project management processes and best practices
Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Create and distribute meeting agendas and detailed meeting minutes with action items.
- Develop and maintain multiple project timelines simultaneously
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within scope, making any necessary adjustments along the way to ensure the project's successful completion.
- Proactively identify and escalate risks or issues to relevant stakeholders and/or manager
- Collaborate with project team members to ensure all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track.
- Manage project documentation and records for the duration of the project.
- Provide input/suggestions on process updates and improvements based on our current state as a team and organization.
- Understanding of Change Management methodologies and tools, certification strongly preferred
- Ability to identify gaps in communication channels and workflow processes that may hinder project efficiency, team alignment, or timely delivery
- Other duties identified given organizational needs.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading cross-functional teams and projects.
- Comfortable communicating and collaborating with all levels of staff.
- Ability to meet project deadlines and find solutions when project delays arise.
- Must be comfortable with a flexible work environment with evolving processes.
- Capability to work independently but ask for help/guidance when needed.
- Advanced Monday.com proficiency.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with ability to manage time effectively
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook.
Benefits and Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000
(SHP follows a strict internal rubric to help guide salary placement and ensure equitable pay amongst new hires and current staff. New hires should expect to be brought on at the start of the range, except in extenuating circumstances.)

Our organization operates within a distributed workforce, allowing for location flexibility across the country for most positions. We provide remote office support for all staff, which includes a laptop, home office reimbursement, monthly Wi-Fi reimbursement up to $40, and monthly cell phone reimbursement up to $50.
