Sandy Hook Promise (SHP) is a national nonprofit organization with a mission to end school shootings, and create a culture change that prevents violence and other harmful acts that hurt children. Through its life-saving evidence-informed Know the Signs prevention programs, SHP educates and empowers youth and adults to recognize, intervene, and get help for individuals who may be socially isolated and/or at risk of hurting themselves or others. SHP is a moderate, bipartisan organization that supports sensible policy solutions that address the human side of gun violence and make schools safer.
SHP is led by several family members whose loved ones were killed in the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012.

About the Role
The Director of Training Implementation position is designed to maximize programmatic impact by building and managing a best-in-class training team, overseeing trainer scheduling, and ensuring effective data collection. across the Program Development, Delivery and Sustainability Department (PDS). The ideal candidate for this role has deep experience in training delivery and instructional design, thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment, and is a skilled manager and coach. The Director of Implementation Operations reports to the Associate Vice-President of Implementation. This individual will also work in close collaboration with other key Department leaders including the Associate Vice-President, Programs, as well as the Chief Programs Officer on special projects.
Location
We are a U.S. based organization and most of our staff work remotely. The position will work remotely and deliver training in person. The position will require up to 50% travel with flexibility between months.
Job Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)
- Hire, manage, and onboard trainers, leading weekly 1-1s and team meetings.
- Manage scheduling and data entry in Salesforce.
- Foster a positive, results-driven team culture through coaching and team-building.
- Oversee data collection processes, ensuring timely entry and addressing discrepancies.
- Create and manage scheduling and travel protocols.
- Use data to inform content delivery and maintain program fidelity.
- Partner with trainers to lead, model, and gradually release training responsibility.
- Develop and lead annual in-service for new and current trainers.
- Continuously improve training systems and processes for efficiency and scalability.
- Travel as needed to deliver training and support educators.
- Collaborate across teams for IT solutions and tech support, with assistance from the Support Specialist Manager.
- Understand data literacy and support Salesforce auditing for training delivery.
- Participate in organization-wide activities and support training as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong commitment to REDI (Racism, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) principles; skilled in discussing racism, inequity, and fostering inclusivity in work and leadership.
- Experienced public speaker with the ability to adapt messages for diverse audiences.
- 5-7 years of training delivery experience in education or out-of-school settings.
- Expertise in training and instructional design, with a focus on skills-based curriculum for students.
- 5-7 years in education or adult professional development.
- Experience with Salesforce and grant-funded program implementation and evaluation.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles.
- Coaching and management experience, especially managing remote teams.
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to handle multiple competing projects.
- Proactive problem solver with clear, timely communication with stakeholders.
- Skilled in fostering open communication within teams and external partners.
- Results-driven, empowering teams to take initiative and achieve goals effectively.
- Tech-savvy with Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce, and able to quickly adapt to new tools.
- Must live within 30 miles of an airport.A commitment to SHP's vision and values.
- Performs other duties as required.
The salary range for this position is $93,000-$103,000.
(SHP follows a strict internal rubric to help guide salary placement and ensure equitable pay amongst new hires and current staff. New hires should expect to be brought on at the start of the range, except in extenuating circumstances.)
