About Sandy Hook Promise 
Sandy Hook Promise (SHP) is a national nonprofit organization with a mission to end school shootings,
and create a culture change that prevents violence and other harmful acts that hurt children. Through its life-saving evidence-informed Know the Signs prevention programs, SHP educates and empowers youth and adults to recognize, intervene, and get help for individuals who may be socially isolated and/or at risk of hurting themselves or others. SHP is a moderate, bipartisan organization that supports sensible policy solutions that address the human side of gun violence and make schools safer.

SHP is led by several family members whose loved ones were killed in the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012.

Position Summary
Sandy Hook Promise is looking for an Associate Manager, Talent Acquisition to join our People & Culture team and assist with our recruitment and interview process.  This individual will work closely with the Manager, People to screen and review applications for open positions based on must-have characteristics as defined by hiring managers, support with scheduling interviews, and may proactively source and search for candidates when necessary. As this is a new position, the responsibilities may evolve with the individual. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational ability and the ability to manage multiple tasks. This position may require occasional travel to career fairs. The Associate Manager, Talent Acquisition reports to the Manager, People.
Job Responsibilities 
  • Evaluate candidates based on previously identified must-have characteristics to determine whether they should move forward as part of our selection process
  • Support our commitment to building talented and diverse teams
  • Identify and participate in career fairs as needed
  • Review and edit job descriptions
  • Assist Manager, People with posting positions across various job boards
  • Work and collaborate with teammates from across the organization as necessary
  • Assist in preparing and sending new employee orientation packages
  • Collaborate with People Team in improving onboarding and orientation
  • Have a basic understanding of data literacy and willingness to use and refer to data
  • Other duties as time allows to support with full-cycle recruitment.

Qualification 
  • Preferred experience in the recruitment field
  • Familiarity with social media, resume databases and professional networks
  • Preferred knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems, JazzHR or similar
  • Comfortable analyzing data
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite

Benefits and Salary Range 
  • The salary range for this position is $56,000-$66,000. (SHP follows a strict internal rubric to help guide salary placement and ensure equitable pay amongst new hires and current staff. New hires should expect to be brought on at the start of the range, except in extenuating circumstances.)

Our organization operates within a distributed workforce, allowing for location flexibility across the country for most positions. We provide remote office support for all staff, which includes a laptop, home office reimbursement, monthly wifi reimbursement up to $40, and monthly cell phone reimbursement up to $50.
